Helen Magnuson, All Posts , 2commentsIn an earlier comment that was following a tangential thread to nowhere, I mentioned that Helen invited Mother and Teresa to stay with her after George died, and suggested that Teresa was probably the best one to tell that story. I am sure many of you knew Helen well and have lots of memories, so here is a place to share them. Please do!

Posted by Diane Bird in : 1. Helen Magnuson , 10commentsI’ve enjoyed the input about Helen. She always put me in mind of Lauren Bacall or Katherine Hepburn because of her elegance and style. She and George visited us in Boise (Bonnie’s and Vi’s families) and later on we got to know Floyd as well. Both good men and well suited to Helen, though very different from one another. George was flamboyant and exuberant and they loved giving gifts. One summer he and Helen brought leather cowboy and cowgirl outfits, complete with guns and holsters, for Vicki, Natalie and I. Didn’t we think we were the cat’s meow!! I’ll get a picture of all of us into Helen’s photo album, so you can all see what fun we had. After George died, Mother and Teresa moved to Helen’s home in Oakland and lived there for a couple years before returning to the Boise house. I’ll let Teresa tell that story.
